If I am looking to gain real PE experience and grow and gain knowledge in the area, is this role fit for that?

IPS is a middle office role at BX. You basically are the intersection of finance and sales. You will handle things like investor templates , eFront etc ,

Looks like investor relations support. I would try to get a pure investor relations job. This role will not lead to PE (IR won't either, but is a good career in itself)
I am currently in consulting at a big 4. Will working on engagements for private equity firms put me in a better spot to learn PE than an IPS role with BX? Really looking to get my foot in the door.
Would it be a waste to take this role even with a nice salary increase if I am looking for career growth and some hands on PE experience or at least a role that will put in a better position to gain that type of experience? Or does a significant salary increase trump all in this case?
