Siris, New Mountain, Veritas, WCAS, AEA, American Securities, Court Square come to mind
Any specific tier rank here? Or differences in terms of comp, rep, exits, etc
Would definitely say that New Mountain, Veritas and AmSec are in their own tier above the rest of these guys.

Definitely has been talked about quite a bit on here.
New Mountain is great but they’re a bit larger (~$10B latest fund) than what you’re looking for.
Other funds that come to mind are Harvest, Oak Hill, TowerBrook, etc.
Centerbridge, Cerberus, KPS, Sycamore, etc. are more active in distressed space.
NMC still has MM feel as they do mostly smaller deals (hence the larger # of associates).
I really categorize the UMM separately from MM since the experiences can be pretty different.
Yeah, I would classify them as UMM - they do a lot of buy and build plays. I just made that comment solely based on the fund size range that OP posted.
