TPG on the down??

I networked my ass off to get to TPG, was like almost verbally promised a guaranteed internship (attend a target, think HYPSMW, and yet...) I go and check LinkedIn and there's like almost 15 interns, and many seem to be sophomores. to top it off, even on some of the best groups of their flagship fund, they're taking interns from non-targets now. did i do something wrong? there's no way i'm inferior to these actual kids - what did they really do to get to a megafund?
