Traditional LBO firms with generalist programs that are consultant friendly
Title is pretty self-explanatory. I'm in consulting and looking at my options for PE. I would like to know firms that do traditional buyouts (like how Jerome Kohlberg left KKR to form Kohlberg & Company because he saw KKR as having strayed from the original idea of LBOs) that are generalist in nature or have their Associates start as generalists. Any kind of information is helpful. Thanks.
Maybe Berkshire partners. Look up Gregory Singer from Wharton on LinkedIn. I think he was a consultant who has been at some PE firms. Good guy
Berkshire is no longer generalist
I believe Vista Equity is consultant friendly...
New Mountain is definitely consultant friendly. Could be mistaken but don't think they're split out by groups (they do a good bit of healthcare, technology, industrials).
