Transition from a middle-market European Bank to PE

Hello,

I am starting my first year as an IB general coverage analyst at a French bank (thinking BNP, SocGen, Natixis) next June. I went to a semi-target undergrad in NYC. Currently seeking advice for breaking into PE (possibly mezzanine/infrastructure fund). Would shoot for mid-size funds since mega funds would be unrealistic. Was wondering if anyone has been there and is willing to share a few tips on recruiting. Thanks!
