UMM / MF firms with best hours and culture
What funds are these? I know all UMM/MF are always a grind, but I am coming from LMM with very easy hours, so I would like to know what at least the best of the UMM/MF world are in this manner.

Bump for UMM
bump. any good ones in LA for this?
I hear you with hours - but think that team dynamics actually play a larger role. A 9-7 paying below market with toxic culture in my view is worse than 9-10 paying market with great culture.
I’d diligence team and fund performance in front of hours.
I've anecdotally heard that Advent, Bain, Berkshire, BDT, TPG, and Warburg aren't soul crushingly awful. You probably still get crushed but I've heard fewer horror stories from there vs. places like Apollo, Blackstone, GTCR, Golden Gate, etc.
Decent number (first three) seem to be Boston based. Any other good funds in Boston that you know that are sizable and provide a balanced experience (personal growth, good team culture, strong exposure)? Have heard of Advent, Bain, Berkshire, but not much of others (outside of Audax being brutal).

Second on Bain Capital
Not sure why I got MS on this… it’s pretty well known that Bain Cap has a more laid back culture and the hours are definitely better than a place like Apollo. I have two friends who are there (one in PE, one in credit) and they both have said the same thing
I didn't give the MS but as I started my PE networking this past month, I have been hearing the hours there have been basically as bad as everywhere else and the culture is "fake nice" (only spoke to people in the NA PE group though). Obviously, it's way better lifestyle than Apollo though (but so is every firm).
Any insight on warburg?

A friend of mine landed at Oaktree in a European office and probably works 60-65 hours on average per week. Not horrible all things considered. He came from pretty sweaty groups at a BB before that so big WLB step up for him.
Pleasantly surprised re. Oaktree. Which team / sector?
