Vector Capital

Any opinion on these guys? I’ve heard they have had trouble fundraising and I’ve had pretty absurd turnover from associate to principal level in last 3 years as well / big culture problems. I’ve heard multiple investments marked down to zero as well historically at some point, they were a high-performing fund, however, not sure if their investment strategy has withstood the test of time.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, there isn't specific information about Vector Capital in the provided dataset. However, the context does highlight some general trends and challenges faced by private equity firms, such as fundraising difficulties, high turnover, and issues with investment strategies not aging well. These are common red flags that could align with what you've heard about Vector Capital.

If you're evaluating them, consider these points: 1. Fundraising Challenges: Struggles in raising capital often indicate waning confidence from LPs, which could stem from underperformance or strategic missteps. 2. Turnover Issues: High turnover, especially from associate to principal levels, might reflect cultural problems or dissatisfaction with career progression. 3. Investment Strategy: If multiple investments have been marked down to zero, it raises questions about due diligence, risk management, or the adaptability of their strategy to current market conditions.
