Vista to Thoma Bravo

Hello WSO. This is my first an only post, but essentially I have just accepted a FT analyst offer from Vista and was wondering if it would be possible to lateral to another tech firm, specifically Thoma Bravo. I like Vista, but I think there might be more of a culture fit at TB, but I have only ever seen them hire Aso from IB, never from PE analyst positions. Obviously staying at Vista is not a bad alternative since I know I want to do tech investing for the foreseeable future, but after reflecting on my intern experience I think I would do better somewhere else.

Of course, Vista is one of the best tech investing firms by far and you’ll definitely have the chance to lateral to a place like Thoma. On a side note, would you mind sharing what the FT process looked like? Any cases?

Looking at your comment history it's crazy to think an intern at MS NY M&A can be this delusional hope life goes well for you man

It's also very likely that the two have an agreement not to poach talent from each other. Vista and Haveli (Brian Sheth's new firm) have an agreement in place not to recruit from each other.

wtf did I just read. some kids are truly never happy - oh no I got an mfpe analyst offer, wondering if I can go to another mfpe …

Bump - would same rationale from Vista to TB apply the same for Vista to FP/H&F/SLP?
