I've been seeing more mid-level PE folks go from deal team to portco c-suite, everything from CFO to Head of Corp Dev to Chief Transformation Officer. It seems like this generally happens within their own portfolio but occassionally to another fund's

Has anyone here actually done it or know someone who did? Curious to hear how you actually have that conversation. Are these folks typically already on their way out? Or do they just one day tell the senior leadership they want a path at a portco
