What time do you go to the office at the private equity?
In private equity, do you have to be in the office until 7 a.m. or even before, like what investment banking or trading room demands? If the attendance policy is somewhat flexible, what time is the kind of minimum threshold? (like at least before 10am etc.)
Not sure what investment banks have you getting in at 7am... At my PE firm I'd say the policy is generally flexible once you've paid your dues. We try to avoid scheduling calls before 9:30am so that's sort of the unofficial threshold time, but most people are in around 9.
Work in special sits PE at a large AM, ppl get in around 9:30
reading the original post hurt my brain.
9-10am with an avg around 9:30am. If you walk in after 10am, no one really cares. Most leave the office between 5-5:30pm. Of course, logging back on when back at home.
what sized fund is this?
In around 9:30-10am. Out by 5:30-6 usually to wfh for another few hours.
This has been my experience as well
Also my experience for another data point
Analyst at a MF - some variance by group, usually 9:00 - 9:30 in my groups, some groups a little later
Seniors are usually out of the office by 6 (lots taking train to Westchester or CT), juniors by 9 (but wfh afterwards)
We usually get in around 9:30 and leave by 5:30-6:30
The previous posters sound like East coast spots (10a start time would never fly over here on the West Coast). Associates at my shop come in between 8:30 and 9, then relocate in the evening between 7 and 8 but typically online for several more hours.
What's your fund? So that I can avoid it
He's right though. I'd say thats even on the relaxed side for a west coast fund - most are 8am start.
9:30-10:00 on most days
NYC MM Fund (~$5Bn). Most are in around 9-9:30. I’m usually closer to 10, sometimes a little after, and no one says anything. If they did, I’d point to the emails in their inbox at 3am…
VP sending emails at 3am? Let us know your fund so we can avoid lol
lmfao yeah fuck that I think I typically fully sign off by 10:30 unless on deals or I know I have deliverables due
Fucking tell me about it. Got the promotion, didn’t get any associates to backfill, and haven’t been off of live deals all year
At a NYC MM, most are in by 10am
