Not to encourage snakey behavior but would keep that close to your chest until later on. Sharing info like that broadly so early into your role may lead to seniors not taking an interest in working with you as well as salt from your peers before you get to know them.

Remember bonuses and promotions are tied to your “alignment” as well as your performance. We are also still largely in a down market…

That aside, congratulations!! Focus on doing a good job, building some great relationships, exploring yourself outside of work, and (now) not taking yourself too seriously!

Best of luck

In today's slower deal environment, firms are scaling back or flattening hiring classes and tightening their belts. While rescinded offers remain unusual and reputationally tarnishing for PE firms, they're definitely not impossible. I wouldn't ease up at your job just because you already have your next one. Plus, PE firms and investment banks obviously talk and investors often have friends at these shops or are personally alums, so news travels.

Don’t say anything. No matter how open the group wants you to be about recruiting.

Realistically the best strategy is to walk into the bullpen, stand on your desk, start pounding your chest, and tell everyone that you’re absolutely leaving for a legendary MF but won’t forget your fellow analysts who helped you get there
