Would an employer care about taking a specific high-level course?
I'm in the process of choosing the elective courses for my 2nd year MSc. in Finance from a European semi-target school. My goal is to eventually get in to Private Equity.
Our program may choose to take a PhD course as an elective and I'm contemplating enrolling in a PhD course in Corporate Finance. I am hoping that this would help me compensate for my past (but hopefully not future) lacklustre grades.
I am confident that I will be able to pass and enjoy the course despite the heavy workload but I don't want to commit to that level of sweat without any kind of reward.
So my question is: would an employer even care that I took that course and would it help set me apart at all? Any specific type of employer that could potentially put a higher value on it?
