It's a female process. They keep it open to everyone but the person they end up hiring will be female according to a friend at WP. You should also be aware that culture is extremely toxic. Have heard real horror stories from my friend and know a couple of other guys who were there but left ASAP due to culture. With that said, if you get any other offer I would definitely take it. Especially since their funds have very mediocre returns.
How did you even hear about the process in the first place?? They reached out to you?
Dartmouth sent out an email to pretty much every kid in London with an IB internship at a BB early this summer, inviting them to a networking even which was the first step of the process from what I understand.

This is the way almost all PE recruitment processes for analyst positions / internships work. Headhunters reach out to people with a certain background and encourage them to apply.
