BIWS REIT Modeling - Lot of modeling experience?

Hey

For whoever has taken BIWS for RE and REITs, how advanced does your knowledge have to be of financial modeling? I saw the pre req said that it was an advanced course and should have taken Excel and Financial Modeling Course before. Wondering if you could take this without having a lot of modeling experience in the past.

ehh, it's very likely you'll get lost. for the reit modeling you should have the basics of modeling down for sure: how to set up a model, how the financial statements link up to each other, how to do a basic valuation, as well as a sound understanding of concepts such as levered free cash flow.

by doing the fundamentals course, you'll then be able to soak up a lot more for the reits module. you can, however, skip the advanced modeling (tho i highly recommend it too).

I looked into BIWS's REIT modelling course. It looks like its $250 for the course. I would say it is worth it for somoeone who has lacks exp modelling and RE finance knowledge.

Go fot it. I don't think your Excel knowledge or RE finance knowledge needs to be advanced for that course.

I'd be very interested to hear from anyone who is familiar with various products on which might be most beneficial for certain sectors. I'm working at a retail REIT, and I'm not sure if BIWS or REFM would be a better option.

Obviously I've looked these over and this one goes into REIT valuation, and modeling for Hotel/Office, but which one will give me the most applicable modeling skills given my company's niche?
