Deutsche Bank IB CRE vs. JP Morgan CRE REB
I have summer offers from Deutsche Bank's CRE group within Investment Banking (FIC) and JPMorgan's Real Estate Banking (REB) group within Commercial Banking, both in NYC.
I'm still exploring my long-term career interests.
Would appreciate any insight into how these groups compare in terms of:
- Exit opportunities: REPE, debt funds, IB, and overall career flexibility.
- Work-life balance and culture: Typical hours and team environment.
- Reputation: DB's IB placement vs. JPM's broader brand recognition.
- Experience and compensation: Deal exposure, technical development, and long-term earning potential.
Would love to hear from anyone familiar with either group. Which would you choose and why?
