Jump from opportunistic repe to dev tips?

Hey y’all currently work in investments at an opportunistic repe fund, hoping to make the jump to development. Any tips anybody who has made this jump before could provide? For context I’m currently an analyst and would be trying to make a lateral.

Any tips in terms of how to find firms to target, best way to network, do these guys ever look for LP side guys, what are the most important skills to highlight as I try and make this switch?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Tips for how to do it or what to expect on the development side? Because the pivot itself would be achievable at the junior level with CRE experience, especially repe. Sometimes these lean, one man shows, expect (need) actual development mileage, but many large-scale shops will even hire directly out of undergrad.
