Hey Analyst 1 in RE - Res, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I'm here since nobody responded to your topic! Bummer...could just be unlucky but one of these topics will help shed some light:

I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.

I've been in principal lending, debt advisory, and now in REPE, and I can tell you that compensation in debt funds are quite higher than what you will see in most commercial banks or advisory firms.
At the analyst level,
Debt fund: GBP 50k - 80k (depending on your experience) + c. 50% bonus
Traditional lending: GBP 35k - 60k (depending on your experience) + c. 20-30% bonus
Debt advisory: GBP 35k - 60k (depending on your experience) + c. 20-30% bonus
It is possible that there could be variances, for example, a good year at a debt fund can get you higher bonuses, but I would say these are the ballpark figures (the lower end of the range is assuming you are joining straight out of an undergrad degree).
Bonuses for associate positions will be marginally higher, but base salaries will start from the higher end of analysts' pay range (e.g. at a debt fund, it will range from c. 70k - 120k).
Hope this helps.
Thank you for your insight, very helpful. A few follow on questions please:
From what you have seen, what are the typical base increases as you go from A1 to A2, or A2 to A3?
How did you make the transition to REPE?
Any recommendations for someone looking to go from traditional lending to a debt fund?
This is a few years old, but this has a specific section for real estate finance compensation: https://www.pageexecutive.com/sites/pageexecutive.com/files/legacy/bank…
This here gives some larger numbers, I think the real position for most people will be between the Michael Page survey and this one: https://www.sousoupartners.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Retaining-Pro…
Thank you for providing those resources. From your post history I see that you are an experienced professional in the real estate debt space, could I please pm you with some questions?
