Rockwood Capital
Does anyone have any insight into Rockwood Capital (comp, culture, WLB, dealflow)? These guys are clearly a reputable firm and among the top in REPE; however, the information available is pretty limited and dated.
Do they usually hire out of UG, or do they seek IB or REI analysts/associates? Exit ops? Any cred with MBA programs?
Following
They’re legit. I interviewed there and got good vibes from them. $225k for associates. Although a lot of associates come in with 3-4 years
I don’t think they’re super opportunistic. More so value-add + a debt business.
*Email blast I got a few days ago, they are considering undergrads from my understanding (contrary to the below). Expect a modeling test as well, not super complicated but does include a waterfall and sensis.

Interesting to hear that Rockwood is considering hiring direct from undergrad, as this is contrary to what I've heard about them (in the past).
I have a few friends that either work there or have since left to other companies. The guy that l know that left leveraged his experience to an even better opportunity (IMO). The team, deal flow, and experience will be an amazing opportunity. However, Rockwood is known for keeping associates as associates / not promoting them to the next level. This is offset this by a great compensation, but at a certain point, it's not only about the $$.. Career development is important. No one wants to be an Associate / Senior Associate when you have over 10 years experience.
This is what happens when you’re top heavy. There are only so many seats at the top levels.
I would avoid if possible. They made some bad investments in NYC office, high amounts of turnover at the senior level, not thee best comp either. The culture is awful too lol. Future doesn't look too bright.
Bump. Anyone have updated info on their performance? Most recent fund looks sizably smaller than their last.
Last fund didn't do great.
Ill-timed office and life sciences investments.
Anyone have any insight on comp at the associate level?
A few months ago, I was quoted 130K-140K base with a 50-55% bonus for an associate role. I was surprised by how low it was.
Interesting. I was quoted 140-150 base with 50%-70% bonus.
