How to write CV for consultants doing PE work

Hi all,

Seeking advice on how consultants working on PE projects (CDDs, CVDDs, growth strat) from firms such as LEK, PE-Y lists project experiences on their CVs. Some of the specific questions I have around are:

  1. Do you write each project experience in terms of what the entire project is about or just what portions you worked on/responsible for?

  2. Do you mention the client (PE firm) at all? If so, do you anonymise the name? How so?

Would appreciate any examples! Thank you.

I have a section at the top explaining my role and experience internally. Then I have a Select Projects section detailing specific projects / deals.

  1. Depends on what you can speak to most easily and what will be most interesting to the interviewer. If you were closely involved in the final findings / recommendations coming out of the entire project (or if you can at least speak to how those were arrived at), then write about that since it's the highest level work. If you were highly siloed and can only speak to your workstream, write about how your workstream impacted the findings / recommendations.
  2. I keep clients and deals anonymized.
