RESUME HELP NEEDED - Junior Finance Major

I am a Junior finance major at Indiana University and want to go into investment banking. Every time I go into our career services office they don't really tell me any useful information on ways to make my resume better or how to tailor it to specific firms. Please take a look using the link below and let me know whatever you think. Thanks.

Hey, I am a fellow student at IU and agree about the UCSO.

I would condense the scholarship information (for exapmle, my resume just has a bullet saying "Awarded over $XXXXX in merit scholarships). Four lines on scholarships seems a little excessive.

If I was interviewing you for a job at Waste Management, you'd have the job.

If this is your resume for IB it needs serious work my friend. You have 5 bullets for your frat and 2 for your only relevant work experience. Hate to break it to ya, but no one at any bank gives 2 shits that you recycled beer cans and solo cups at your frat house. You need to think of shit you did at ML that can take up a third of the page.

The Honors Award thing is redundant too. You already state that your GPA is a 3.53, now you want to let us know you got an award for it? If you didn't have at least a 3.5 I wouldn't even be looking at your resume. Nix it

Finally, after you delete half of the stuff about your fraternity you need to make a skills/proficiencies section. This is your moneymaker. Any programming languages, software (Thomson), technical skills, modeling experience, EXCEL!!! - that all goes here.

Your main 2 selling points are your relevant coursework and your relevant experience, keyword: RELEVANT. I want to know more about your summer internship and I want to know more about the modeling and projects that you have done in your upper-level finance classes. These need to take up most of your resume and I barely see them.

Revise and repost if you want any further advice. Good luck in your job search
