Resume Review for IDB trying to escape

Hello Guys,

Longtime lurker and admirer of this site from the UK, finally bringing myself round to the prospective of moving away from my current position as a swaps broker at a leading Interdealer Brokers.

While the job can offer some very lucrative renumeration in a relatively short period of time there is very little in way of learning, job security or exit opps, therefore I feel like making an exit before I become too pigeonholed into this role needs to be done sooner than later.

My ideal situation would be to gain some experience at a VC firm with an internship or graduate/analyst position, however I am under no illusion that this is something that is easy or for the latter even possible considering my previous experience. I would be willing to take an unpaid internship position to gain experience, seeing that a few CV firms in London are offering this. Do you think that this would allow for a significant improvement in being able to land something permanent? Seeing that I would have to quit my current job to pursue something like this, it is quite a risk.

One of the few skills that you do need in broking is good interpersonal skills, would this be something that could be applicable to VC, seeing that face to face meetings seems to be a fairly large part of the beginning of a career in this industry?

I have a very keen interest in tech and have demonstrable experience in this area by previously running an online company while at college and university. I appreciate this is a world away from having in depth knowledge in financial modelling that M&A would provide.

I have dusted off, updated and attached a copy of my CV for critique if you would kind enough to have a look.

I will be very happy to answer any questions about my current job if it is of any use to any of you!
