Bocconi MSc Finance - Regular vs Global Experience Track?

Hi all,

I’m looking into the Bocconi MSc in Finance and I see there are two options: the regular finance track and the Global Experience (GE) track.

From what I can tell:

  • Academically they look very similar (same core courses, same final degree title: MSc in Finance).
  • The GE track includes a mandatory international component (internship/study experience outside Italy).
  • The regular track still allows internships abroad, but doesn’t force you to go abroad - you can also stay in Italy if that works better.

For people in IB / PE / AM / HF or anyone familiar with Bocconi:

  1. Does the GE track give any real advantage in recruiting compared to the regular track?
  2. In practice, do employers care about the specific track, or just about where you interned and what you did?
  3. If you could pick either, which track would you choose and why?

No difference. It'll just force you to do an internship/study abroad which may have a benefit for networking but that's pretty much it. 

 

So essentially there’s zero added value, since the regular Finance track doesn’t force you to do an internship abroad - but you still can if you want to (and if you manage to secure one). And it also allows you to do an internship in Milan.

It seems like the regular track gives you more flexibility overall, so it’s probably the better option.
