BOCCONI VS WARWICK VS SSE VS UCL VS BOCCONI HEC DP
Kind of a rough question but have been accepted into all the above. Econ or A&F for Warwick. BIEF for Bocconi as well as the Bocconi/HEC DP. UCL Econ as well. SSE B&E. Swedish national. Aspiring to do IB London and wondering which is my best option? I couldn’t care less about the weather/climate/food/women or so on in each respective country because then I already know what I would pick haha but what is the best option career wise, still factoring in the respective cost of each but all else held equal? Cheers
For aspiring to break into Investment Banking (IB) in London, here's a breakdown of your options based on the most helpful WSO content:
Bocconi/HEC Dual Program: This is arguably the strongest option for IB in London. Both Bocconi and HEC are highly regarded for finance, and the dual program offers exceptional networking opportunities, exposure to top firms, and a strong alumni base in London. HEC's MIF program, in particular, is known for its direct pipeline to London IB roles, and Bocconi's reputation in finance is stellar.
Warwick (Econ or A&F): Warwick is a well-established target school for IB in the UK. Its Accounting & Finance program is particularly strong for finance careers, and Warwick has a significant presence in London IB recruitment. If you prefer staying within the UK system and want a direct path to London, Warwick is a solid choice.
UCL (Econ): UCL is a semi-target for IB in London. While it has a strong reputation, it doesn't place as many graduates into IB as Warwick or Bocconi. However, its location in London can provide networking advantages and easier access to internships.
Bocconi (BIEF): Bocconi is a top-tier school for finance in Europe and has a strong track record of placing graduates into London IB roles. The BIEF program is well-regarded, and Bocconi's alumni network in finance is extensive. However, the dual program with HEC would likely edge out the standalone Bocconi option.
SSE (B&E): SSE is a strong school, particularly for Nordic placements, but it is not as competitive as Bocconi, HEC, or Warwick for London IB roles. If your goal is London, SSE would be a less optimal choice compared to the others.
Recommendation:
If cost is a significant factor, weigh the tuition and living expenses of each program, but career-wise, the Bocconi/HEC Dual Program offers the best return on investment for London IB aspirations.

Bocconi or UCL. I would personally recommend UCL. You will likely have a better time and its the most 'prestigious' of your options.
UCL or Warwick if you can pay :)
