Concerned About My School

Hi. I didn’t know exactly who to ask or where to post, but this is the first place to come to mind. I have always wanted to work on Wall Street, and have had a finance career in mind for a while. I am attending college next year at Bucknell. On here, many people say that it is a semi-to-non-target and isn’t worth it. However, I hear of grads getting good jobs at decent banks.

So, basically, is studying finance/Econ and maintaining a high GPA worth it? I understand I am not attending Yale, but it is still a decently ‘elite’ school, in general (think Lehigh, Nova, Wake). Are people just trolling, or is trying to get a job on The Street too unrealistic for a smaller college?

If anyone can give some advice or share experience, it would help me out a ton. Thank you guys!!

There might not be as many established paths like OCR etc but if you give up on your grades then make no mistake, you’re the one who gave up.

Plenty of kids from all sorts of non-targets make it into SA programs every year, best you can do is get your GPA as high as you can, network with friends and alumni and work hard - same rules as always.
