Explaining Job Transitions
I'm working on business school apps and wondering how to explain why I left my last job after 1.5 years.
It was a well-funded ($30M+) startup company that lost its biggest client and quickly devolved into a toxic mess. Our "Chief Admin Officer" (basically just head of HR) was a huge narcissist and highly skilled office politician who convinced the CEO to fire the COO and promote her in his place. I reported directly to the COO before he was fired and after the successful coup, our new CAO made it very clear that she had no interest in my ideas and started telling people I could not be trusted.
Around this time I also became aware of some shady things the executive team was doing and a couple of prominent board members resigned.
I saw the writing on the wall and got the hell out of dodge pretty soon after, but am not sure how to describe this situation in apps/interviews. I was planning on saying something like "the company's actions no longer aligned with its mission" or that I was on the losing end of an executive power struggle. What might set off red flags for admissions?
Hi fnl2021, yes, I'm a bot, but I'm also good looking. Hopefully, these threads help you:
No promises, but thought I'd mention a few relevant users that work in the industry: esheridan cbrojasg @Value892"
Hope that helps.
