FP&A B-school chances?

All,

i am an entry-level analyst at a large Silicon Valley technology firm (our products are a household name) in the Financial Planning and Analysis group. i'm from a non-target public university (top 10) with a decent gpa.

anyone on this forum with an FP&A background make it into a top 15 MBA program? did anyone transition into IB, PE, or MC either pre or post-mba? any insight would be highly appreciated.

a top tier program isn't going to ding you because you work in FP&A. it comes down to your overall package - i.e. academics, gmat, essays, reco, community service, leadership, etc. FP&A work isn't the golden PE track, but it's not thing to discount either. if you feel insecure about how competitive you are to a well recognized program, then you should work on other parts of your candidacy in addition to kicking ass and taking names at work.
