How much math prior to MBA?

Hey guys, I was curious, for business schools, what level of math/statistics would you say is sufficient to do well in the program? I'm assuming it may differ from school to school (some have STEM designations after all) but curious about general consensus or personal experience

little to none. some people in my class didn't know what a derivative is or just basic math principles you learn in high school. think about the diversity of the classes-they're not trying to create economists, they're trying to create a relevant education (but not too challenging because if people fail their rankings drop) for a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.

ya they’ll walk you through exactly how to do everything from step 1. they assume that you have no prior knowledge of any course content prior to the first lesson. it shouldn’t be anything to worry about. but if you know you need help because you want to be a little more stress free, just take advantage of the instructor’s office hours/tutor hours.

How much calculus? Calc 1 was a breeze. Derivatives are a walk in the park and basic integrals aren’t too bad. Calc 2 is a bit tougher for me though.

Most MBA programs don't require calculus, but many say it is helpful. If you can get even a basic knowledge of calculus and the concepts in it will help you. Also statistics for business is helpful.

You don't want to spend your first few months in b-school struggling with basic concepts in math.

There is no need to take a calculus or statistics course in advance of starting an MBA. If it's been a while since you used your math/analytical skills, consider brushing up with a course like www.mbamath.com</a">MBAmath. Then you can hit the ground running when your program starts.
