Is Georgetown On the Same Level as Low Tier Ivies like Cornell and Brown?
This is specifically for New York City Investment Banking Purposes and MBB and Big 4 Consulting? Or do you think there's still a small but noticeable difference?

Career Resources
For New York City investment banking and MBB/Big 4 consulting, Georgetown is very much on the same level as lower-tier Ivies like Cornell and Brown. Based on the most helpful WSO content, Georgetown has a strong reputation on Wall Street and a robust alumni network in finance and consulting. It is considered a target school for these industries, with many students successfully landing roles at top BB (Bulge Bracket) and EB (Elite Boutique) firms, as well as MBB consulting firms.
While Cornell and Brown may carry the "Ivy League" label, the difference in prestige for these specific career paths is negligible. Georgetown's McDonough School of Business (MSB) and its finance-related clubs, such as the Georgetown University Student Investment Fund (GUSIF), are highly competitive and provide excellent placement opportunities. Additionally, Georgetown's location in Washington, D.C., offers unique networking advantages and proximity to major firms.
In summary, for NYC investment banking and consulting, Georgetown competes effectively with Cornell and Brown, and any difference in prestige is minimal and unlikely to impact your career trajectory significantly.

Not sure why you keep asking this- I think everyone in this thread has made it clear that’s not the case
Georgetown has the most investment bankers per capita of any school, there’s a topic on this with real data from a user called Bankerella. Would suggest reading.
georgetown is better than wharton too??

Bro you’re missing the plot with this question. All are great schools with large alumni networks in NYC. All three via their professors, clubs, and career centers will give you the resources you need to succeed. What matters in this choice is you. What kind of college experience do you want to have? Do you want to be in a big city? Go to Georgetown. Can you handle the cold? If not, don’t go to Cornell. Tour the campuses, see what you like. Remember you’re going to be living there for the next four years. Recruiting is like a 3-6 month long process max. The rest of the time you’re just going to be a normal college student. Pick whichever school you think will provide the best experience—not just professionally, but socially, academically, personally. You’re already on this website, you’ll be fine
ok im just sad i didnt get into an ivy and gtown isnt on the same level so yeah im tryna cope
Based on your behavior in this thread, I'm not surprised you didn't get into any Ivies
I've triangulated through all the topics you've created and the questions you've asked that you want to go to Georgetown but need to be made to feel like you made the "highest ranked choice" or whatever.
Just go to Georgetown. You'll be fine for NYC IB & MBB consulting out of it.
