Msc Finance Bocconi University
Hello everyone!
I've recently applied to Bocconi's Msc in Finance (1st round of application).
I'm an Italian student from a uk non-target uni, I study international business and finance. Expected grade: high 2.1 or low first class GMAT: 660 Exchange program: 1 year in Madrid at CUNEF Languages: I fluently speak Italian, English and Spanish Internships: summer intern in a tech startup in Milan; summer intern in a Fintech company in Switzerland
Do you guys think I have a shot?

I didn't ask that. I asked if according to my profile there is a possibility of being accepted at the MSc Finance program at Bocconi.
Sorry for confusing you but what I meant to say was that I would personally consider why you would go there in the first place before paying so much money. Maybe that's just me. If it is to get interviews at the big banks or consultancy firms, yes definnetly go for Bocconi. In my opinion that should be the real question, not whether u get in or not.
But to answer your question in the best of my ability: I myself have no experience in applying there so I wouldn't know. But you can find under program details > the brochure on the website what type of backgrounds students have within the class.
I have a friend studying there now. Not spectacular grades but achieved a BSc & MSc in civil engineering at a belgian univeristy, a 1 year Msc degree in managegment from another belgian school, no internships & highly involved in sports. He does the quantitiatve risk specialized master if I remember well...
I'd just look at the website! Or contact/call some people at Bocconi itself.
It's hard to say especially if you applied only to Finance (if you applied to the Italian taught program too your chances are definitely higher). Most of the Finance class of 2020 that I know, were undergrad students, and the few that applied as external students had 700+ GMAT. Maybe you can contact some 2020 class students and ask them whether they had a higher GMAT, or better look at their Linkedin to see if they list their score.
OMGKEYNES I really don't get understand your comments. Isn't prestige the main reason why you choose Bocconi/LBS/Harvard etc? Getting interviews it's the outcome of a series of different factors, such as that Bocconi has probably a good chunk of brilliant students in Italy, has a great Alumni network, an outstanding international reputation etc. You will get an interview not because of the name "Bocconi", but because of the qualities of the students that attend its courses. If you want to end up working in a no-name boutique doesn't mean that other people don't dream big.
Regarding the tuition fees, they are in line with most of the other programs around Europe, the main difference it's the length: 2 years, which means that you will study instead of earning a salary for 1 additional year

How you doing mate? Italian student here. Bocconi’s recruiters focus a lot on gpa/gmat (I have to be completely transparent, with that gpa/gmat combo Bocconi is a bit of a stretch.. I am planning to apply too and I am not sure to get in with a 700 and a 110 cum laude (gpa 29.5/30) JM2C btw I am no saying that you got absolutely no chance.. but that you should have a better profile in order to be competitive Are you planning on applying to other uni? I know my GMAT isn't great. However my GPA is the equivalent of 3.7/4, I wouldn't say it's bad. Results will be released in 5 days, finger crossed.

Definately think you have a shot. I was admitted for that program in 2016, but ended up accepting another offer for a MSF in the UK.
Write a very good motivational letter and don't try to excuse your score in any way. Be unapoligetic and give it a shot. The worst you can get is a no and the lost application fee. Best of luck!

Went to a target undergrad and semi-target postgrad. Quite ordinary profile, 2:1 undergrad and 1:1 postgrad. As a student, I had two REPE internships and a student job at a megafund (asset management). I've wanted to do trading for as long as I can remember, but the whole business seems to be having trouble so I decided to leave after 18 months.
During my time in S&T I had three different rotations doing sales, trading and structuring exotics before lateraling in September to join an elite boutique in Scandinavia, which is where I'm originally from.
