Could you please take a look at my profile and tell me whether a have a chance at : Oxford, HEC, LSE (Accounting and Finance), Imperial (Msc Finance), Warwick.
I highly appreciate any helps you can provide.
Thanks
I know people at LSE doing A+F who have worse profiles than you
Top 2% of your class, GMAT 750.. You are highly competitive and should be fine if your LoRs and motivational essays are solid.
agreed, shoot have a good shot at all of the ones you have mentioned. You should try to aim for the Oxford MFE, LSE Finance & Imperial Finance
Thank you so much for all your comments.
As I know, these programs are pre-experience master programs, so I wonder whether 3 years working experience of mine (even though it is Finance related job) is an disadvantage to my profile.
Besides, do these universities take into account CFA qualifications and language abilities , or they just don't care and look only at GPA and GMAT.
Thanks again, and looking forward to receive more feedback from you guys.
With your experience and background, I would seriously consider whether a pre-experience degree is really going to be helpful. Maybe an MBA or post-experience MSF would be more suitable for you and would avoid the risk of getting downgraded during recruiting due to your degree/peer group.
Have you looked at LBS? It seems like it might be more of what you're after
Thanks for your post. I have thought about that, but it seems easier to get admission into these pre-experience programs than applying to Cambidge or LBS programs. Because my WE is just 3 years (minimum length for these programs) , and taken in my local country, which obviously cannot be as solid as many other candidates apply to post-experience master programs.
Do you think that I should also apply to some programs in US, which don't require WE but take WE as a plus point in application? If yes, could you please recommend some programs which have good reputations with top recruiters in London?
If you are interested in LBS I would highly suggest submitting your CV review, they'll give you an idea if your profile fits. I'm starting at LBS in the MiF program in a couple months and I have about 3.5-4 years of exp. Let me know if you have any questions.
@"blah23" : Could you share with us your profile that help you gain an entry to LBS MiF? Do you apply to any other Msc Finance programs?
I'm a bit of an nontraditional candidate for the program, but here is my overview: -Canadian undergrad (not a top tier school, I'd say middle of the range. Regional target at best), economics, similar GPA to yours -3.5 years (at time of application) at a tier 2 consulting shop doing management consulting, top bucket during promotion year -730 GMAT
I did not apply to any other MiF programs, I did apply to two MBA programs
Thank you for your useful information @"blah23" Did you apply in the first round? I know that many UK universities use rolling admission, but I am not sure whether this is a big advantage to apply earlier. . Besides, regarding CFA and language ability, do you think that admission team takes these things into consideration?
