MSc Finance International Student

Hi everyone, 1st post in this great community.

Well, as title says, I’m planning to apply for a Masters program in Finance, however I don’t know whether to choose US or top European program. Background: Graduated in Finance & Accounting at Top Tier Spanish University. Exchange program (2 semesters) @ Baruch College. Summer internship in NYC at CF department of a civil engineering firm. Also another internship in PwC and currently working as junior Financial Auditor for B4 firm (less than a year)

My goal is IB/PE and spend at least some years abroad. As I have lived in NYC, a dream would be to go back and work there in IB (I obviously know how competitive and difficult is this industry). Maybe some Latin America coverage team fits my profile but I’m open to anything.

I’m currently preparing CFA L1 and studying for GMAT and Toefl examinations. So I guess these two exams are essential to set my aspirations for any school.

If I apply to a Masters in US I would only consider STEM programs to extend my OPT program and stay there. I know there are quite good programs there (MSF Vanderbilt, MSF UT Austin, USC) specially for IB/PE however I don’t know if it’ll be worth to do my masters there if I cannot get sponsor after the OPT for a IB as these programs are more expansive than the Europeans ones. The thing is that I’m currently working at a B4 so I could try to transfer to TAS or similar as it’s a common path, but, as said my goal is IB, so I dont consider doing my masters in US to end up with a similar role as the one I currently have.

I’m even considering less known programs like Baruch’s MSc in Finance or similar as I already know the school.
