New GMAT - Format is changing
I know that the format is changing in 6/2012. I plan on taking the exam around that time and currently am only looking at math/verbal as there doesn't seem to be very much info out there on the new sections (aside from broad overviews). It hasn't even been released how they are going to score the new section.
Anyone else in this boat doing something similar? Or does anyone know of people currently studying that are putting a lot of energy into the new sections?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Change is absolutely minimal if I understand correctly. One of the essays is going away and being replaced with basically an Excel test. Everything else stays the same. No material difference.
Do yourself a favor and take the test before it changes. A month or two of focused study (probably less) is all you really need to get a solid score especially if you are still in college or a recent grad. Scores are good for 5 years.
Cold Pizza, you can take the test pretty much any time that you want (scores are reported to schools 20 calendar days after you take the test) and you receive your results right after you complete the exam. You can find a test center and available test dates at mba.com
What about those thinking of an MBA in 2+ years down the line. I get that feeling the new format will be more relevant as far as score comparability.
I have thought about this and it doesn't seem like it will be an issue. If you score high you are not going to be disadvantaged b/c you took that older version, that is ridiculous. They are still going to be focused on Q/V scores, which is all that really matters in the end.

I'll be writing the new format. Since the new section, like AWA, is scored separately, I doubt there will be a significant change. Schools should still require the same GMAT scores out of 800 to get in.
Does anyone know if and when any gmat prep sources are planning on making a book for this new section?
I took a new experimental portion of the exam back in August 2011. It was essentially watered down spreadsheet analysis.
