Science/Stat major at target?

hey i'm wondering if someone who is majoring in a science/stat major at an ivy would ahve a hard time getting a finance job? the major is pretty much nothing about finance,, but some stats are included. would this hurt me or should i go to a non-target econ route?

I'm a stats major at an Ivy.

It's a good choice and continues to get me interviews. I have no finance internships, btw.

You need to take finance and accounting early on, and take one or two applied finance classes in your junior/senior year. If you want to do IB for instance, take valuation.

Also, to justify that you're interested in finance you need to keep up with current events and the market.

If you can land a few finance internships you will be extremely competitive in the job market.

PM with any specific questions.

I went to a target and majored in a very 'soft' major (think sociology/anthropology/psychology). There are plenty of people I know who studied history, literature, etc. from my target as well that are in various areas of finance. If you have a solid GPA and can do well in the interviews, it does not matter at all. You may even have a leg up on some econ/finance kids since you are 'different.'
