Should I transfer from Emory to Wharton?

So I've been accepted into Emory Class of 2026. While Emory's Business School is very reputable and strong, and Atlanta is a very large business hub, Wharton has always been my dream.

Do you think it would be worth trying to transfer to Wharton or will Emory be fine? I've seen that if I just network hard at Emory then I get definitely land positions in IB, and Management Consulting, etc.

Maybe Wharton can be MBA level?

Just try to make the most of it at Emory. It is a great school, and is reputable for its academics. Being able to pursue an internship in the city, play a sport and participate in multiple clubs, all while you are attending classes would be an amazing experience. It will be immensely difficult to transfer from Emory to Wharton, as the reasoning behind wanting to go there would be a bit more prestige or that it is your dream which would get you cut immediately (since you are already in a business school). Similar Ivies, MIT Stanford, Hopkins, and UChicago students will have a better chance in terms of transferring. Congrats on Emory, I know many top students that attended there and I can honestly say they are very motivated and extremely intelligent!

Current student at Emory. Obviously any biz major would love to attend Wharton but it’s not very feasible to transfer to any top school. If you attend Emory don’t feel in any way disadvantaged at all, even though it isn’t a “super target” or what ever it’s still a great semi target with good connections. Besides networking and keeping a high gpa, extracurriculars play an IMMENSE role. They offer great career development and introduce you to a more “elite” alumni network than just the Emory network (which is still incredible). Some examples would be GIMG and Atlas Consulting which are the two top organizations on campus.
