Should I triple major or minor?
So, I am transferring to a school ranked Around #10 (US NEWS) as a sophomore. I am currently picking my classes for this semester and I realized that I could triple major in Economics, Political Science and International Relations. I plan to major in at least Econ and IR, but adding Poli Sci will only be 2-3 courses extra. I would not have to go over 15-17ish credits to complete the majors any semester. The trade off is I would have to take lots of cross listed courses with Poli Sci, which I may be less interested in compared to some of the courses just for IR.
The Econ and IR major is very popular and while consulting recruiting may not be very competitive at this school because most people are focused on stem, I know their are some people aiming for consulting with the same 2 majors as well and want to be able to stand out.
My main goal is to get into MBB our of undergrad and PE after. So I think a Finance minor and or business minor may be more beneficial, even though I intend to learn most of the information on my own anyways.
Would it be advantageous to triple major for the sake of it or would a business focused minor be better? I could partner it with something regionally focused.

Isn't IR and Poli Sci redundant. At my school under the Poli Sci major, there is an IR focus. I would rather do Econ/IR with maybe a quant minor.
It is that’s why it is easy to add pol sci. At my school they are separate departments.
I recommend you go with the course of action where you'll thrive so you get higher grades. Schools are going to be more interested in how you did in your courses and how you spent your time outside your courses than whether you double or triple majored, especially when all 3 (especially IR and polisci) are closely related.
From an MBA admissions perspective, and I realize you didn't ask about that, a different kind of minor, either biz focused or tech focuses or focused on a different area of human (and business) endeavor would be better. Taking some quant classes (accounting 1, stats for business, calc (?) would also be helpful)
Thanks for your response, I am also considering the business school perspective. Although I was thinkIng that specific majors and minors can help, but what you do with them carries more weight. I know demonstrating quantitative abilities is important, I have take the intro accounting courses, stats, and Calc. I should have a couple more quant courses through the economics major requirements.
You're welcome. Taking those quant classes is great, and with good grades in them will demonstrate the quant skills b-schools value.
If I were you, I’d transfer to IU Kelley and major in whatever you want... you can single major in Biology and both GS and MS will beg for a chance to have you as their intern. Good luck.
