UCI vs UCSB
Hello All,
Need some advice. Not concerned with greek life or campus culture, just need a pointer on where to go for the most useful degree that creates the most options. Just want to finish my two years and work. I'm an honors transfer student and in-state for context. Previous thread is 2 years old and I feel like Irvine has much more clout nowadays.
I was accepted to UCSB for "Econ + Accounting", and UCI for "Business Administration".
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My only concern is that UCSB doesn't have a bona-fide Business Admin program like Irvine does, and I'm not sure how receptive IB's are towards kids with SB's dime-a-dozen Economics degrees. Irvine seems to be much more selective (14% Irv vs 50% SB) as well and is climbing steadily in rank.
Where would you rank the two on a 1-10 scale? Is it super close in terms of career prospects or are they in two different galaxies?
Go to SB. Way more fun of a school and you'll come out with a better experience. Neither is a target at all so either way it will be on you to get the job, not the umbrella of where you're studying. Plus UCI doesn't have any suf... big issue.
If anything I'd say business admin degrees are far more "dime-a-dozen" than anything. That degree is pretty badly diluted. Not that the degree itself does or doesn't get you the job.

Santa Barbara Uni is good
I went to UCI and absolutely hated it. It’s mainly a commuter school and social life is deaf af plus everything is so expensive. Go to UCSB - college is about the experience and it’ll will help you land a better job too.
