UT Austin Mccombs vs Umish Ross

I’m a high school senior hoping to work in ib, and I’m trying to decide if it is worth it to apply early decision to Umich Ross and risk being committed to going there instead of UT Mccombs. For context I’m a Texas resident so UT would cost 30k a year whereas Umish would be 80k a year. I’m not eligible for financial aid, but my parents said the 529 account (for me and 2 younger siblings) would be able to cover it. Umish would cost more than my third of the account. Would it be worth it to use my early decision on Umish instead of UPenn? UPenn is a shot in the dark for me. 4.15 GPA 35ACT.

UMich ross is great there are a lot of great schools you could use as a platform to break into IB your stats are stellar I recommend you think long and hard about where you want to make use of this ED i see no reason why you should not be able to get in anywhere asides from chance and luck. Georgetown is pretty good as well.

I’ll disagree with another commenter in that I do think that Ross and McCombs are not on the same level with Ross being better.

If you feel guilty taking more than a third of the 529, you could always take out an interest free loan from your parents and then pay it back in due time for your siblings to have a fair share of the 529.

I also would say that Penn does value a good story and if you can write essays well, ED could be worth it because you’d probably get some aid and the Wharton name for finance is unparalleled
