Would a minor in Statistics help me?

I am currently a junior at a non-target (Pace University). I am currently majoring in finance, and have no other majors or minors. I have read on this site that quantitative majors are valued in finance. Unfortunately, due to finances, a double major is not possible for me, nor is switching majors, but I am seriously considering a minor in statistics, would this be a good choice?

I think a minor in stats and or computer science would be very beneficial.

Just an Undergrad trying to get a job. Something you disagree or dislike about my posts? Let me know by PM'ing me or commenting constructive criticism.

It would help you to stand out. However, do not think that it is going to be a guaranteed job for having it as a minor.

Only two sources I trust, Glenn Beck and singing woodland creatures.

I understand, nothing is guaranteed. I only want to stand out in a sea of finance majors. From what I've gathered reading this forum, very little of what you learn in school is going to be applied in your job and that the main objective of college is to prove that you are intelligent and have a good work ethic.

The best way to do this would be to go to a target and the second best to double major but if this stats minor will give me any boost it's worth it for me.

I'm willing to take any finance job I can get but my dream is to eventually work in a company that invests in distressed debt or is in distressed situations (like a restructuring investment bank or a fund that invests in distressed companies). Do you think statistics would help me in that area of finance?
