Advice on FT recruiting (need sponsorship)

Hi all, I'm looking for any advice given the current market conditions. For context, I'm from a non-target and got an SA offer in S&T at a BB in NYC for this summer. Obviously, my plan A is to get a return offer and stay at that bank FT (as I know they'd sponsor me), but I'm kinda scared about headcount given the current market and want to keep my options open for FT recruiting during my senior year after my SA stint. I know FT S&T recruiting is a very long shot, so is there any other area that I could lateral to and "transfer" my experience over? I already have a list of banks that I know sponsor for sure, but I just don't know how FT recruiting really works, especially bc I'm from a non-target. I feel like I can figure out networking (bc that's what I did to get my SA offer in the first place) but haven't really built connections with other banks outside the one I got an offer for. Any advice would be really appreciated!
