Double Major after Signing Offer

I am a sophomore that just signed a 2023 Summer Analyst offer at a BB with high retention in the division that I wanted. I was (still technically am) double majoring in math/econ but now that I have my offer I'm tempted to go down to just one major. Ultimately I hope to spend some years Trading at the BB before exiting to Hedge Funds. Would having a double-major help me in HF recruiting even after 2-5 years of work experience? Is it worth it to continue with the double-major?

A little bit of both actually. I don't really enjoy any of my classes except for math but the issue is that upper-level math classes take about 20-30hrs/week out of my time and it definitely contributes highly to my burnout.

I suppose when it comes down to it, I would keep the double-major if I believed I could complete it without taking a chunky hit to my GPA and if I believed I could improve my WLB and study habits. Obviously these factors are for me to determine but I am wondering if college GPA matters for HF recruiting even with several years of work experience. If I need to maintain a high GPA for the rest of college then it may be worth it to just drop down to a math major and leave econ.

I don't think my econ education has really improved my understanding of markets (or economics really, for that matter) but I think I have amassed enough fundamental economics knowledge at this point to learn how to trade.

So to sum it up:

- does GPA matter for HF recruiting

- is it better to be well-rounded in my skillset or to be very strong in 1 or 2 subjects (may try and learn to code if I drop econ, would add to well-roundedness)
