Sell side trading to buy side PM
How difficult or easy is it to move from a macro trading desk at a top BB (jpm/gs/ms) to a buyside trading role (ie PM at a hedge fund)? How does this compare to going from a MM prop shop (optiver/flow)? Are my chances better if I just dodge the sell side altogether and try to land something like a graduate role at a shop like Glencore? Thanks!

Hey, curious about what happened and the decision you made. I’m an upcoming graduate with an S&T offer.
Hey, I ended up going straight to a buyside shop which made the decision easier.
