S&T Trades

Hey, how long usually do S&T traders usually hold trades? Are they scalps, or more of swing trades? Also, how much of these trades are prop vs flow trading? Also, who is flow trading being done for, I am confused on the flow trader term? thanks

It's totally up to the trader - it can be intraday, day to day, or longer than that. You decide your trading style, some like trading positions intraday and scalp, some try to trade swings, everyone is different and tries to find their edge. Every trade is a "prop" trade just more dependent on whether or not you initiated it as a position or a client put you into the trade, Remember, whenever you trade with a client, you take the other side, from there you can decide to 1) get out of the risk 2) wear the risk.

Typically flow trading refers to desks that have a lot of frequent client flow everyday (ex. USD swaps, FX options, etc.) vs say like structured credit trading (which is more "deal based"). Clients can be anyone from hedge funds, asset managers, corporates, etc.
