University Growth Fund (UGF) - Best VC & Growth Equity Internship for Undergrads

University Growth Fund (UGF) is a Venture Capital / Growth Equity fund with offices in Utah, San Diego, and Atlanta. It has an AUM of nearly $90M and the fund primarily invests in technology, B2B SaaS, and consumer product companies in their early stages.

If you are interested in VC, PE, IB, growth equity, or really any type of high finance career, it is the best undergraduate internship you can do. There are 2 partners at the fund, and then they ONLY hire student interns. Across all 3 offices, there are about 60+ student interns who run all of the due diligence and deal processes at the fund. The 2 partners source all of the deals, and then the students all sign up in teams of 3-10 to create deal screens, investment memos, and pitch decks of the companies and pitch them to the rest of the fund at UGF. The rest of the students then vote on the deal and if it passes, it goes to an investment committee of LPS where UGF and the LPs will decide whether to actually invest in the start-up company.

Student interns at UGF are given more responsibility and hands-on due diligence/investment research experience than almost any other internship in the country. UGF also has an AMAZING alumni network and pipeline of students that go on to work at the best banks and funds in the country. Some of these include UGF alumni at Evercore, Partners Group (7 alumni), KKR-Accel, Moelis, Peterson Ventures, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, BofA, Morgan Stanley, Moelis, Deutsche, Qatalyst, BlackRock, Ares, and many more.

If you are thinking of applying, do it. You won't get more real and hands-on investment research experience at any other internship in the country.
