Any word on Clearlake?
Seems like Clearlake has been generating a lot of heat lately with their 7bn fund close and they’ve deployed a ton of capital in the last year. Anyone have some more color on the firm? Not a lot on the forum so curious to hear any insights on strategy, industry focus, sourcing model, reputation and culture. Thanks!
I think they are notable for not hiring right out of IB. They will hire Associates 2 years out of another PE firms ASO program. Pay is probably incredible (there have 2 billionaires at a firm that doesn't have more than ~15-20 IPs), but have no real insights.
Probably not relevant to you, but from a sell-side advisor perspective, they only hire the bank that sold the company to them.
Was described to me by a now former employee as originally playing in the tech PE sandbox when a lot of traditional LBO firms didn't know how to do tech buyouts with high growth companies. Said they also invest up and down the capital structure.
bump. any idea on pay? culture? how do people get traction there?
bump, seen a couple associates directly out of IB analyst program so want to check if above is consistent
Great firm. They were a buyer in one of our recent processes
Mind PMing me? Have a couple questions
Mind posting some of the questions here?
How is culture? Imagine it’s pretty sweaty given dealflow (along the lines of a Francisco or Veritas) but curious to hear any anecdotes
