BlackRock SA 2022 Superday (London)

Hi,

I have my (3 hour) superday at BlackRock Alternatives (Private Capital Markets, PE and Hedge Fund Solutions) next week.

Does anyone have experience of final round interviews at BLK Alternatives - I know the process varies a lot depending on the team.

In particular, I'd love to know:

  • How is the day structured?
  • What are the most important technicals to know?
  • What are some common questions?

Thanks so much!

I interviewed in Alternatives for Private Equity Partners. They asked a lot of fit questions. Even a lot of stuff about my coursework at university.

Of course, they also asked me about trends in PE, and a few more specific questions on what PE solutions I would advise to a certain client.

Are you interviewing for the analyst program or another position within this department?

Great thanks for this. I’m interviewing with the PE Investor Relations team for the SA program.

Did you have many in-depth technicals (eg. running through an LBO) or was it largely behavioural/motivational in the same way the first round is? Cheers!

It will be mostly fit questions. Don't prepare too much technical stuff like LBO. They won't ask.

Read the news, look at the market trends, be ready to answer industry related questions and client related questions about risk exposure and the right PE solutions based on that. You can do it! People at BlackRock are nice.

Hi again,

I had the final round at the end of last week and am yet to hear back. I never asked in the interview when I should expect to get a response but most people seem to say that if you don’t get an offer within 1 or 2 days of the interview you’ve probably been unsuccessful.

Was this the case in your experience. Thanks!

I got the offer 4 days after my final round. But could also take up to 7-10 days. If you don't hear back until then, it is probably a rejection.

Good luck and give an update!
