Blair Chicago v. Cowen NY

Hi All,

I am currently needing to decide between Blair Chicago and Cowen NY's healthcare group. From my understanding, Cowen is more focused on capital raising (biotech/life sciences) and Blair is more focused on services/IT/medtech, and has a better mix of M&A and capital raising. If I am ultimately interested in working in NYC, would interning at a Chicago office be a disadvantage in terms of looking for FT offers in NY or Boston? Other than that, how do the firms compare in terms of providing future opportunities to moving to BB or entering biotech/pharma industry? Thank you for the help.

Both Blair and Cowen are very strong in MM healthcare though over the last three years Cowen has made a very strong push towards getting a more even mix of cap raises and M&A.

For moving to a bulge, both will offer similar opportunities. For entering biotech/pharma, Cowen would probably be the better choice given it is what they are strongest in and work with most biotech and pharma cos.
