Certified Private Equity Professional (CPEP)

Hey guys,

I tried making a search on this subject but didn't really come up with anything here on WSO. Does anyone know anything about the CPEP? Is it useful in terms of getting internships / full time offers in private equity?

For a reference, here's the link to the website: http://www.privateequitycertification.com/

Thanks!

Maybe I should rephrase my question then... Is it worthwhile to get the certification? Has anyone here received the CPEP? And if so, could you speak in detail about how much it has helped you?

I took a quick glance at the website. This certification doesn't even look real. I've never heard of it and I've interacted with a lot of PE professionals. Judging by the questions, it appears to be pretty lame. Also, the reading materials are just publicly available books that these guys have "chosen" to be the best for learning about PE.

Save your time and money.

Never heard of it and have never seen a PE professional with it listed in their bio.

Save your cash and dignity and run the other way.

I haven't really heard of it either, but I remember stumbling upon it somewhere and wasn't sure if it actually meant anything. Anyways, thanks for the response and advice guys!
