Comp at PE Portfolio Company - Head of Finance Roles
Does anyone have an idea on how the comp is structured at a Head of Finance / Director type role at a MM PE portfolio company? Base / Bonus numbers would be helpful but also what can one expect at the backend?
In talks with one that is backed by a ~$500mm fund - quite capital structure heavy so the portfolio company itself should be ~ $200-300mm of total capitalization right now across fund / co-invest equity capital / debt. Some of this would be owned by the rolled-up targets since many of these are less than 100% owned.
Trying to understand what my own economics could look like if say, the fund exits in ~5-7 years, given there'd be people above me in the waterfall - the non-controlling owners, original / co-invest LPs, fund and other senior management team members above me.
Thanks in advance!

For a head of finance or head of FP&A role (but not CFO), I would expect comp in the 160-220 range, with 20-25% annual cash bonus. Equity varies a lot depending on how much management reserves for non-executive members. Probably 0.05-0.4% for a director.
What title are you in IB? I assume you’re not a first year associate like your tag says.
