COVID-19 Effect on Houston O+G Internships and Hiring

About to start a summer internship in Houston within the oil and gas investment banking space. There have been tons of threads talking about COVID’s effect on internships as a whole, but with the state of oil and gas, would love to see any opinions specifically concerning Houston energy.

Idk about the internships particularly, but a person I know who works at an EB told me that the EB's team that sits in Houston goes home at 5 pm on most of the days because of the lack of dealflow. With the Oil prices crashing to $24-25, I expect the whole Oil & Gas industry to take a hit, including the IB team working in that space.

Jefferies just sent incoming ft analysts an email saying the start date is not gonna change and your offer with Jefferies is not at risk.
