Deloitte Mergers and Acquisitions Transaction Services

I'm slightly confused on the title of the job. I did a search and the titles seemed to have changed from AERS and FAS so I was trying to figure out if this is a good opportunity to open doors in the future or a position I should pass on. From the description it seems very accounting based which makes me feel that it has little to do with valuations, but I just want to verify this.

Counseling is another aspect of the Internship Program. At the end of each engagement, interns will have the opportunity to review their performance with management. Additionally, staff will serve as "mentors" to this year's intern group. Mentors serve as a vital source of information and advice as well as participating in many of the social activities planned for the interns throughout the internship.

The Accounting, Valuation, & Analytics ("AVA") service area is comprised of professionals with skills related to the understanding and application of technical accounting standards, financial reporting, valuation techniques and methodologies for derivatives, financial instruments, and other investment products, forward price curve development methodologies, quantitative risk assessment and forecasting models, structured finance transactions, cash flow modeling, data integrity, data modeling, statistical sampling, capital markets transaction support and due diligence.
